Make sure you are in your underwear. The best way to get an accurate body measurement is to use a flexible tape measure, keeping the tape taut but not stretched.
Don't forget to stand up straight with your feet six inches apart. Measuring yourself might prove difficult, so if need be, phone in that favor your friend owes you for helping them move.

Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of the your chest.
Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hips :
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your leg.
